Marketing through bloggers

I know this is the “in thing”, every company wants to tap into online marketing. There are tonnes of blog entries out there talking about the same thing. It is always the same bloggers who got invited to events, holidays, launches etc. It is getting boring, this is one thing. Another thing is a lot of these bloggers are not exactly people whom you want them to carry your brand around.

Do companies actually read blogs? How many of those bloggers are actually doing something good for the society? Are they even good as a person in the first place? Do you know some of them are on drugs, gamble and drink like there is no tomorrow? I bet a lot of them have problems financially.

When I saw these bloggers promoting for brands, I have a very bad impression on the brand itself. Do I bother to read the entries? No.

If I am selling something, I want to make sure the people I choose are the right people to do it. Those who follow the local blogging scene closely will know.

I know we cannot do anything about others’ private lives but the least marketeers can do is to stop using these bloggers to promote products or services.

Sometimes I wonder, why drug use is not reported when addicts openly talk about their habit? Why girls who got cheated never do anything? Why is it the parents never say or do anything? We can do with less social junks.

5 good things today

Can I list down 5 good things that happen in my life today? 5 is so little!

Well, if I can name 5 today, perhaps I can name more in the days to come. Just trying to look at the positive things instead of the negative ones. I have a long list of negative things in my life; things I cannot get rid of in my life due to responsibilities and survival.

The list is on-going. I hope to achieve what I set out to do by the end of the day.

Here’s the list for today:

1. The screen did not fail on me the moment I walk into the office lobby.

2. There was no nasty email when I switch on my computer at work.

3. Traffic was clear after work. No jam in the car park.

4. Finished 2 designs for the website I have dreaded to work on. The design turned out good.

5. Had a good time watching tv with bf. At least he did not fall asleep on the sofa. Sofa is too comfy according to him.

There you go, the 5 good things which happened to me today.
