Support women with cancer

Today is World’s Women Day. There has been a lot of messages about women’s right and gender equality blasting out from local radio stations.

Other than that, I think women should help women too by being less selfish, less stuck up and by keeping their jealousy at bay. Hah! I’m afraid it is quite difficult for most women to see eye to eye with another in today’s society. There is bitching everywhere.

Anyways, I’ve promised to donate more to charities this year. This is a promise I made with myself and I didn’t share with anyone.

My first donation of the year goes to a local breast cancer support group. They were having charity drive in various shopping malls in the city. I stopped by the booth during lunch break last Friday, bought a button clip and donated RM2 change I got from the RM10 note.

This is something very close to my heart because my grandma had breast cancer.

I saw the same group again in KLCC last night. Not sure if they will continue the drive this week. If you happen to come across the booth, please donate. Other than buttons, they are selling fresh orchids and handphone charms as well.

Kite Flying

The only special thing I did this Hari Raya break is to fly a kite.

It is not a surprise someone gave me. I had to find a place and tell someone to go there. Honestly, this kind of thing should be a surprise for a girl. Especially a girl like me. I love being in touch with nature.

Although I like shopping but going to a shopping mall is not something I look forward to during a holiday. I love shopping on ordinary weekends. Well, I don’t have much money to shop anyway. I also don’t have that special feeling to dress up and make myself look nice for some date. What date? Where? Nobody tells me there’s going to be a special date.

This is my kite. It is not with me. Someone took it with him and I cannot forsee myself ever get to fly it again in the near future. I want my kite

It is a symbol of freedom to fly up high for me.

The haze is clearing

Sandwich Making : Seafood Mayo

I made my own lunch in the office for the past 3 days. First, there was Jusco Day. It was very busy in the mall and traffic was madness too. Secondly, I got lazy to hunt for food outside the office (so much walking). Thirdly, I got sick of thinking about where to have lunch. The cheapest Malay food is not healthy at all.

Since I have access to fresh ingredients, I decided to make my own lunch. We have refrigerator, toaster and microwave in our own department. Yup, paid for by my me except for the toaster. Got it very cheap from our all suite hotel before it closed for renovation.

Anyway, this is what I had today.I bought some Ayam Brand Seafood Mayo Spread. Dressed up 4 slices of organic wholemeal bread with seafood mayo and some organic bean sprout shoots. Then I popped it into the toaster for 2 minutes each.

Best way to enjoy my lunch? Play Farm Town and Mahjong.

Blueberry cupcakes

The berries are here since last month I think. There are strawberries, blueberries and cherries in supermarkets. Prices have come down and we can enjoy some of these “luxurious” fruits.

Last week I bought a packet of fresh blueberries. Pair them with cream cheese, I made 12 blueberry cupcakes for Father’s Day.

Blueberry Cupcake

A packet is just nice to make 12 cupcakes with blueberry fillings and topped with fresh blueberries. For the cream cheese topping, I used half a packet of Tatura cream cheese.

They are yummy.

Fred The Red

I saw Fred the other day during lunch. He was here in KL. He gave me a cute pose when he saw me with my camera phone.
This picture is for MU fans. Fred is too cute to be missed.

“Fred The Red” is the official mascot for Manchester United F.C.
I’m not a football fan and I did not take a picture with Fred because the bf is not a MU fan.

What is the biggest animal on earth? It’s the Blue Whale.

For the first time in Malaysia, you can come up close to a life-sized baby blue whale.

Where? Mid Valley Megamall.

When? From 3-13 April 2009, 10am-10pm

It is kind of cute. Nice model. I was hoping they would install the mother instead. That will be impressive!

Have you ever pay attention to labels on tea bags? Most of them look pretty boring. Like this…

Today I discover something new.

The Lipton Yellow Label tea bags are boring on one side and fun on the other side. Eventhough catchy but it is not funny. I don’t know what it means.

Maybe they can do better with a funnier picture.
