Why do people get mouth ulcers?

Sorry for the lack up updates. My mood has been killed by the pain I’m experiencing from mouth ulcers. I have 3 of them on my upper lip. I wonder how they got there in the first place?

Most of the time a mouth ulcer appears when we accidentally bite on our lips and almost all the time it happen to me on the lower lip. So I have no idea how I got 3 on my upper lip this time.

First of all I know I am under a lot of stress lately at work and at home. There are tons to do in the office. At home, I have so much housework to attend to and teaching never stop on weekends.

I sleep later, drink less water because I have too much to do. The weather is not helping either. At night the temperature is almost 30 degree Celsius. The air is so bad during the day we have haze that smells like smoke.

It is week 2 and the ulcers are still there although the pain is lesser compared to a week ago. I am waiting for it to heal and running out of patience. Sigh.

Mommy’s Thumb

I have got Tendinitis of the thumb (also commonly known as Mommy’s Thumb) on my left hand.

Why Mommy’s Thumb? Women usually get it from lifting and carrying baby in their arms.

Well, I am not married and I don’t have a baby. The culprit may be my iPad!! I don’t use it that often (not everyday, most if 1-2 hours each time) but when I do, I normally use my left hand to hold it in place while my right hand does all the tapping on the screen. It can get a bit heavy after some time.

On top of that, I also carry groceries using my left hand everytime I go shopping after work. The pain started around Chinese New Year on both hands initially because I had so much shopping to do. My right hand recovered because I don’t use it to carry much things I guess.

Sheesh… I left hand is still pain. It is not severe, only when the thumb get into certain position then the pain is felt.

I’ve been reading up online and checking exercise videos on YouTube. Basically there is some simple massage and stretching of the finger. Most important of all, stop doing whatever that will cause pain in the area.

Sigh. I have bought some herbal joint supplementary to help reduce inflammation and keep my joints healthy. Hope to recover soon.
