Bad luck all the way

My birthday was around last weekend. I had a good time with my family but not so good time with the bf.

The best birthday gift would have been a gym membership. Just like always, I got myself what I needed and nothing from anyone else.

As I made some money from the book sales and won a mahjong game. The money is all gone now.

Winnings from mahjong went to buying food for my family. The book money is not enough to cover my parking summon, car repair and gym membership transfer. :-(

It was on my birthday I got a parking summon when I went to the bank for a few minutes. No wonder people want to illegal park at the road side because if you don’t park in a parking lot, you won’t get summoned for not displaying a parking ticket. That particular road has one parking meter only. By the time I walk there to get a ticket, I can finish my business with the bank.

The next day, I got a flat tyre on my way to work. I had to ask for help from my car park people. They were kind and one security guy helped me changed to the spare tyre.

Yesterday I had to ask my mom to help me bring the car for repair, while I came to work without a car. Went home taking bus and train. All this time I am wondering where my bf is. I know he is so busy with his own work and issues, but gf also need to cherish.

It is not about going out for movies and makan. This is sad.  No matter how hard I try to make things easier for us, I am missing a lot of things and emotions that couples share.

To add on to the bad luck, I left my ID and driving license in another bag that I used during my visit to the bank. Been walking and driving around without license for 2 days. I only noticed this when I was at the gym doing the membership transfer thingy.

Life sucks!

Some progress on the books

I’ve been trying to clear of some stuff that is taking up space in my room.

One of those things are books. They took up quite a bit of cupboard space. If I keep them any longer, the pages are going to turn yellow. So I have decided to sell them off while I can.

I put up a notice at a forum more than a month ago. There was little response until today. Two people want to buy some of my books.

This is good news, I can finally make some space in the cupboard and rearrange the books I want to keep.

I have just paid RM300 for life-time membership at MBPJ library. Since I joined the library a year ago, I have bought very few books.

Strangely, I feel that owning books, DVDs and CDs is suffocating for me. I don’t want to let “things” take over my space. After a while, it feels like they’re taking over my life because I have to clean them, arrange them and I must take them along if I need to move to some other places.  They make the living space messy and will end up being thrown away.

My life need not be burdened by extra weight from “stuff”.
