New to Joomla

I was called to the boss’s room to look at a plan for our company’s new venture. Immediately I told him the examples shown were Joomla-like.

This is how I introduce something new to my job. No one heard of it before. Someone in the company always insist on using ASP.NET to build things. I have no issue with this but the lack of expertise in this language often caused crashes and issues in the things we built in-house.

If there is such a thing as FREE and ready-to-use, why not try? It will make work simpler. All we need is to study and learn more about it. I have not used Joomla before but I have heard of it long before.

It is more work for me but I’m OK with it because I am all for picking up something new. Just like the way I started on WordPress not too long ago.

After I finished some work this morning, I installed the system on local PC and did some testing. It was a bit confusing. So I looked through some documentation. During lunch, I went to the bookstore to look for Joomla books.

There is one book available so I recommended it to the boss. He didn’t buy the idea. Anything that has to do with spending money is not welcomed in the company. Anyway, I still have my training budget. If I get this working, I will go for a Joomla training for my own benefit.

As much as I hate working in the office, I’m still a good worker. I had my performance bonus back in January. However, I did not calculate how many months were given. I can’t even remember the figure. It is higher than most of my colleagues. Therefore I choose not to talk about this.

I will have Joomla for my performance review this year and it goes into my resume as well. :P
